Be accountable for yourself. Start now; don't use the beginning of January as an excuse to procrastinate. Don't associate yourself as the "typical new-year gym resolutioner", but rather a disciplined, strong-willed inspiration.
Stay on point all year--- not just during bikini season nor special occasions. Maintain your wardrobe, your physical health, & personal appearance.
